The Tribe has carried its momentum from the Fall 2025 season (season recap here) into the Spring with a strong 5-1 start among its two representatives. Both players for the Tribe find themselves ranked in the top 25 nationally to start the season and are looking to continue their winning ways as they start the second half of the season.
Marc Grabulosa-Serra (#9 ECAC)
After finishing the Fall 2025 season winning the third-place game of the ECAC National Championship, Grabulosa-Serra has continued his hot streak with an undefeated 3-0 record to start the season. During week two, he managed to win in straight sets against Fanshawe College. The first set being a close 2-1 victory while he dominated the second 8-4.
During week three, Grabulosa-Serra faced off against Roberts Wesleyan University (the #12 ranked player in the nation). He went down early losing the first set 4-1, but he responded with 7-5 and 9-3 wins in sets two and three. This boosted him to the 9th ranked spot in the ECAC after week three.
Brandon Carranza-Lopez (#23 ECAC)
Carranza-Lopez, a quarterfinalist in last year’s ECAC national championship, faced off against the current #1 ranked player and last year’s national runner-up, coming out of St. Clair college. Despite losing this match, he bounced back with two straight convincing performances.
Despite starting off week two with technical difficulties (resulting in a first set forfeit), he rebounded with 6-1 and 5-2 set wins against St. Clair’s other EAFC representative. He went on to have a dominant week three performance against Seton Hill University. He won in straight sets 3-1 and 10-3. This is the first double digit scoring game for the Tribe this season. He currently sits ranked 23rd in the ECAC with a 2-1 record.
Other Notes:
This is head coach Garrett Bellin’s second season in the role. His coaching record has moved to 22-6 overall.
The ECAC regular season is seven games long with one game each week per player. With four regular season wins, a player in the ECAC secures a spot in the postseason play-in tournament. With five wins, a player seals direct qualification for the national championship tournament.
Week four matchups are scheduled to be played on Monday (2/23) at 8 PM. Games are streamed on YouTube here:
